Here’s something for children of the 90s, or any lover of a good action flick. Today, director Joseph Kahn debuted a NSFW version of the classic television series Power Rangers.

Picking up where the original iteration of the series, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (aired from 1993-1995), left off, Kahn’s POWER/RANGERS is set in an dystopian future, long past the parameters of fictional city, Angel Grove.

Now adults, OG characters Tommy, Kimberly, Billy, Zack Trini, and Jason are jaded amid a tumultuous battle with intergalactic enemies (namely James Van Der Beek). The cheesy spark-from-the-chest “special effects” seen during the series’ heyday are long gone. The 2015 version is bloody and filled with profanity.

We suggest that you watch Kahn’s POWER/RANGERS below, as he’s already seen contention from Power Rangers copyright holder Saban Entertainment.
