The newly created Block Party LA is set to get a unadultered taste of Brooklyn now that Talib Kweli has been nabbed to rock the city’s streets.=

Block Party LA will be taking over the entire block of 3200 Union Pacific Ave, Los Angeles, California, at Union Pacific Ave between Grande Vista Ave and East Pico Blvd. to bring its fans the second installment of the Block Party LA concert series, on May 9th starting at 12pm! Following A. Glaspie Marketing’s first concert, which featured a set by LA based independent female hip hop artist, Ill Camille, and West Coast legend, Kurupt, this one day action packed concert features some of today’s hottest independent artist in the game.

Keeping up with the momentum of such a successful event the first time around, the line up for the 2015 edition will include Talib Kweli, Curtiss King, Terrace Martin, Preston Harris, Dean Risko, Alex Isley, Ramaj Eroc, The League, NameBrand, Jake&Papa, Craig Gillespie, Tassnata + Junia-T and Rook!

As she did in 2014, Ashley Glaspie founder of Block Party LA, has managed to curate an amazing line up for this year’s event. Performers will appear on one stage and concert goers will have the joy of not only enjoying live music, but the 2015 experience will include, a Health and Wellness station, Interactive stations, Food Trucks, and much more.

“My goal with Block Party LA is to give independent artist a solid foundation and space where artist have the opportunity to leave a legacy.’” says Glaspie. “I was raised to give back and with that instilled in me combined with my love for music. Block Party LA has become my way of giving back to the community and helping my generation to feel empowered to chase their dreams.”

A portion of the proceeds raised during Block Party LA 2015 will be donated to theChildren’s Defense Fund scholarship program “Beat the Odds”. With the mission of not leaving one child behind, the Children’s Defense Fund, ensures that every child has a healthy start, head start, a fair start and a moral start in life leading to a successful passage to adulthood with the help of caring families and communities. Glaspie doesn’t only want concert goers to enjoy a great time, but she also wants people to walk away inspired to give back and help their community.
