Having received albums from the best artist of Hip-Hop’s new generation, the stage is set for heavyweights to make their mark on 2015. That includes Nas, whose long-awaited release will drop this summer, if all goes as planned.

Nas made the revelation during a show in Orlando this past weekend. After screaming “death to all snitches” and commanding the crowd to watch those in their inner circles, the Queensbridge wordsmith concluded his statement with this: “2015, new album this summer.”

The project will be Nas’ 11th solo album and the follow-up to his 2012 release Life is Good. Esco has remained relatively quiet in a musical sense following the aforementioned project, opting to drop occasional guest verses and one-off releases like the J. Dilla-produced track, “The Season.”

Nas also revived Mass Appeal magazine, where a lofty six-figure investment earned him the title of associate publisher, and created a label in the publication’s name featuring acts like Run The Jewels, Fashawn, Dave East and Boldy James.
