What does any 13-year-old entering into manhood want for his Bar Mitzvah celebration? Hint: A performance from Nicki Minaj.Ms. Minaj performed a set of seven songs at the Bar Mitzvah of 13-year-old man, Matt Murstein, the son of a New York City tycoon who holds the largest stake in a publicly traded taxi company.
The mitzvah was held at the Pierre Hotel in Manhattan, with guest like Hank Aron, and former Knicks player John Starks.
Murstein is a big fan of Minaj, so his dad paid her to show up for a mini-concert. Her stage time included a clean version of “Super Base,” and some words of encouragement:
“Get an education. Stay in school. And don’t be a slouch or a bum. And ladies, never let a man have to take care of you. Do you understand me? Be your own woman. Be your own person. Do you understand me?”
The young ladies maybe understood her (probably not), but the dudes definitely didn’t catch those words of wisdom because they’re 13, and Minaj had her “girls” at full attention. Her heart was in the right place though.
