Alfonso Ribeiro is coming back to television, as host of America’s Funniest Home Videos for the upcoming 26th season, Vulture.com reports. Former host Tom Bergeron, announced his successor on Dancing with the Stars last night.

The man known best for playing Carlton Banks, danced his way to a DWTS victory last season, and attended last night’s finale. He brings a fresh but familiar face to the long-running AFHV franchise.

“It’s really about assisting the videos not trying to overpower the videos with your comedy,” the 43-year-old told Entertainment Weekly. “But I have a different energy than Tom does and I’m very animated and energetic, and some of that will absolutely come through. I’m sure it will be dance-related in some form…. For me to able to come in and replace Tom, who’s my idol in the hosting world, will be a challenge but one that I feel excited to be a part of.”

Ribeiro will begin filming this fall.
