Syd tha Kid‘s soul collective, The Internet, has announced a new album slated for release later this month. To set the mood, Syd, Matt Martians and the rest of the crew debuted a new track, “Special Affair.”
Ego Death, due out June 30, will feature production from Jimmy Douglass and guests spots features courtesy of Vic Mensa, Tyler, the Creator, Janelle Monae, James Fauntleroy, and more.
According to the FADER, Syd tried a different approach with the upcoming projects. “With the last album, I kind of lost touch with my youth,” Syd said. “Just jumping up and down at shows and acting like a little kid. I missed connecting with my age group, so with this album I wanted to connect with our peers more.”
