Fetishizing infamous crime lords (particularly drug dealers) is one of the oldest tropes in street rap culture. That said, expect plenty of rappers to exalt El Chapo, who recently escaped from a maximum sec prison in Mexico.

Washington D.C.’s own Shy Glizzy features an animated image of El Chapo on the artwork for “Head Huncho,” featuring Quavo and Offset. Also live from the bando comes Casino with a song titled after the escaped prisoner. He’s assisted by his real life brother Future and Young Scooter.

Both songs appear below in Wired Tracks, along with another tune inspired by El Chapo and a bevy of other new material.
