Whenever West Coast Triple OG DJ Quik drops a new record you best sit down, listen, and take notes because this man is capable of spitting lines that’ll require research if you’re not familiar with Hip-Hop history or in this case, musical antiquity.

For his latest, “Puffin The Dragon,” Quik borrows the title from the classic children’s song turned stoners urban legend and turns in a hard cut riddled with drug and gangster innuendos while paying homage to Hunter S. Thompson’s drug driven novel Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas.

Back in Brooklyn, Milly Rock and Maino collaborate with no fear like the clothes white boys be wearing… back in the 90s anyway. On the “Milly Rock Remix” Milly and Maino get everybody within their vicinity to participate in the Milly Rock dance until they’re ultimately confronted by the police a quarter of the way into the video. Whether it was out of respect for the crown or the cameras on set, the officers let production continue and the hood finished shaking their hips and waving their arms which is the basis for the Milly Rock dance.

Check out the rest of today’s releases which include a J Dilla produced cut from Slum Village, Trinidad James, and more.
