The New Boyz have been nominated for “Best Group” at this year’s Teen Choice Awards. The award comes on the heels of their nomination for the same category at 2010’s BET Awards.
Voted on by the public, the awards will take place on Sunday, August 8th at Los Angeles’ Gibson Amphitheatre to be aired the following night, August 9th, at 8pm ET/PT. Fans are encouraged to vote for the group at www.teenchoiceawards.com.
The New Boyz, comprised of Cali rappers Ben J and Legacy, released their debut album Skinny jeanz 7 A Mic last year which spawned the double platinum singles “You’re A Jerk” and “Tie Me Down.”
The Cali duo is preparing to drop their next single “Break My Bank” featuring labelmate and Iyaz in mid-July. The song will be the first off of their new album out this September entitled Too Cool To Care.
