One of the benefits of being on the hottest show on television is the little perks in life such as weaseling out of speeding tickets and getting meals on the house at fancy restaurants.
Empire’s Bryshere “Yazz” Gray a.k.a. Hakeem Lyon learned the hard way that he’s going to have to come much harder than “Drip Drop” next season. A Memphis club recently gave him the stiff arm when he tried to skip the line at the front door.

‘Empire’ star Bryshere “Yazz” Gray tried pulling the celebrity card big time Saturday night but one security guard just wasn’t having it.
We’re told Yazz, who plays Hakeem Lyon, was trying to get into Memphis’ famous Beale Street … the only problem? … He didn’t want to stand in line. A witness says there were about 35 people waiting when the actor came out of nowhere and tried going through the street’s exit, completely ignoring the line.
Yazz got into it with a security guard before his bodyguard stepped in and took him away.
Luckily for Yazz — he still left with two hot chicks.
Watch Hakeem Lyon’s luck run out at the door in the video below. Sad thing is, this could have very well been a storyline on the show.
