If you don’t think Rae Sremmurd’s Sremmlife is one of the best albums of 2015, you either haven’t listened to it or simply have yet to experience them live.

Hundreds of partygoers and American Express® Card Members flooded the historic El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on Thursday, August 20, to cap off the American Express UNSTAGED: Artists In Residence Concert.

The distinguished credit card company hosted a unique pool of artists including “Do It Again” singer Pia Mia, BØRNS and Gavin James. After the aforementioned artists did their due diligence, the brothers Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee shut it down just like they’ve been doing all year.

You know you setlist is stacked when you have the luxury of opening with a classic banger such as “No Flex Zone” and after instigating the mosh pit from jump, the energetic rappers launched into more monster material in “Throw Sum Mo,” “No Type” and “YNO.”

Notable guests for the event included Vice Chairman, Interscope Geffen A&M, Steve Berman, Interscope A&R extradionaire Ray Alba, producer and songwriter Emile Haynie (Kid Cudi), veteran music video director Diane Martel (Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines”); fashion stylist Brandy St. John and music marketing and creative director Kelly Covell. Leading up to the concert, Rae Sremmurd documented their journey from the obscure streets of Tupelo, Mississippi to being officially American Express UNSTAGED.
