Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott has been carefully creeping on a comeback in the last couple of years; making major headlines alongside Katy Perry at Super Bowl XLIX and most recently appearing on the new Janet Jackson album. However, before all those wins took place, she was apparently scheduled to rock a Rio de Janeiro festival but failed to show up.

The NYDailyNews obtained papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court by concert promoter Jean Faustian that claim the multiplatinum artist/producer and her teams was paid for three shows in November 2012 to perform in Rio and Porto Alegre as well as perform on Brazil’s big morning TV show.

Carlos Carvajal, Faustian’s lawyer, said the deal was set in stone for a $150,000 payout but the follow-through just wasn’t there.

“We love Missy but her staff …. we don’t know what happened,” Carvajal said.
