The streets of Oakland are boiling over with violence in the aftermath of summertime and soul singer Bilal is the latest victim of armed robbery–in broad daylight. Around 3:15 p.m. on Monday October 5th, Bilal his four-man crew were out in The Bay shooting the video for “I Really Don’t Care,” the next single off of Bilal’s recently released album In Another Life, when four armed men ambushed them, robbing them of the equipment used for filming.

Following a high-speed police chase, two of the four men were reportedly apprehended after their getaway vehicle crashed on the highway. The Oakland Police are currently trailing the other two suspects.

Okayplayer spoke with Bilal’s manager, Hans Elder, who was also present at the incident and he ensured the publication that he and the rest of the team were unharmed and even some of the equipment that was stolen has been recovered.

The Oakland Police Department is asking anyone with information on the robbery to call the Robbery Unit at 510-238-3326.
