Why people think it is O.K. to freely use the n-word, especially in the context of slavery times, is beyond any civil-minded individual at this point. However, repercussions are becoming more swift than the word as it rolls from their racist lips.

Or typed from their racist fingers.

Erika Escalante, a young student from Katy, Texas, who attends Chandler-Gilbert Community College in Chandler, AZ, brought great shame to her internship position at Isagenix, a dietary supplements and personal care products company, when she decided to share a photo of her and a friend picking cotton, all the while claiming it brought out her “inner ni**er.”

It was then, Twitter user @XLNB, a filmmaking student at USC, rallied the troops and brought the serious situation to the attention of Isagenix, who quickly cleared their roster of one less racist.

“We too find this tweet offensive & we are shocked. This does not reflect our values & culture. The intern is no longer with us,” the company wrote in response.

Escalante immediately deleted her account and perceivably had a friend create another one, which tweeted out Giuliana Rancic’s public apology to Zendaya, word for word. A coward’s way out.

Take a look at the fallout and aftermath from the Isagenix incident in the gallery below.
