Love him, hate or just plain don’t get him, Nardwuar is an essential figure in music. The Human Serviette suffered a stroke over the weekend and the zany music personality is said to be recovering in his native Vancouver.

The 47-year-old Nardwuar, who is best known for his bizarre antics while interviewing subjects, was attending a party last Saturday when he suffered the stroke. This isn’t the first major medical emergency the man born John Ruskin has suffered. In the summer of 1999, he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage.

More from Billboard:

Canadian celebrity interviewer Nardwuar the Human Serviette suffered a stroke on Saturday night, according to his Twitter account. He is now recovering.

The stroke occurred Saturday night at the Mint Records holiday party at Vancouver’s Astoria venue. He is currently hospitalized at Vancouver General Hospital.

The tweet announcing his condition was posted with a picture of an ambulance’s route away from the venue, which noted that it was picking up a “confused male” with an “altered level of consciousness.”

Some of Nardwuar’s best interviews have been with Hip-Hop acts, including Snoop Dogg, Migos, Wale, Rae Sremmurd and the Wu-Tang Clan among countless others. Sometimes, the guests aren’t ready for what Nardwuar brings to the table but others like Pharrell did their homework and caught him at his own game.

Get well soon, Nardwuar.
