The All Eyez On Me biopic cast is growing at a steady rate, this after the announcement that Jamie Hector of The Wire fame will be playing Tupac “2Pac” Shakur‘s stepfather in the film. Hector, best known for playing Marlo Stanfield on HBO’s popular crime drama, was named just after Danai Gurira was cast to play Afeni Shakur.

Deadline reports:

Morgan Creek’s Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez On Me continues to cast up, with The Wire veteran Jamie Hector tapped to join a group that includes The Walking Dead‘s Danai Gurira, Kat Graham and Demetrius Shipp Jr as the rapper.

Hector, who helped battle vampires in a recurring role on FX’s The Strain the past couple of seasons and now co-stars on Amazon’s Bosch, will play Tupac’s stepfather Mutulu Shakur in the pic, which is being helmed by Benny Boom and follows the life and death of the hip-hop star. Mutulu Shakur was married to to Afeni Shakur (Gurira), a political activist and member of the Black Panthers who was targeted by the FBI, caught and incarcerated for conspiracy to aid in a bank robbery.

Hector has been keeping busy with roles in Showtime’s Power and CBS’ Person Of Interest along with the aforementioned role in The Strain.
