Just weeks ago, TDE’s newest signee Lance Skiiiwalker had all of Hip-Hop talking about him before even uttering a word. Now he’s here with this first single “Speed.”
After causing a Tweetstorm earlier this month with Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q and the rest of the Top Dawg Ent. family tweeting his name, the world has been waiting to see and hear just what this Lance Skiiwalker person has to offer.
We found out that he was a hard-to-find Chicago rapper/producer who seemed to have moved to Los Angeles and disappeared, only to resurface in the credits of Kendrick and Jay Rock’s most recent projects. But now we finally get something to feast our ears on.
“Speed” is nothing like what we’ve heard from TDE before. The track sounds like something Saul Williams would hop on. The mood of the song changes every second and staying true to the track’s title, the song is over right when you find yourself getting into it.
