A barbecue turned violent on Saturday night (May 28) in The Bronx. Three people were reportedly shot, but luckily all will likely recover from their injuries.

Reports the New York Post:

A 23-year-old was shot three times in the gut, a 20-year-old was shot once in the stomach and a 19-year-old was shot in the leg at the Lambda Upsilon Lambda party in Van Cortlandt Park in Riverdale at about 10:30 p.m., police said.

Witnesses told cops they noticed people shoving and arguing before gunfire broke out at the party near West 242nd Street and Broadway.

The victims were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital. No arrests have been made.

Although initial reports said Lamba Upsilon Lamba, a historically Latino collegiate fraternity founded at Cornell University in 1982, was involved, that is not the case. The organization had nothing to do with the altercation, which actually started at a neighboring function.
