California Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters has officially been charged with violating ethics rules.
The senior member of the House Financial Services Committee is set to face a trial in the fall much like her fellow Democratic, Rep.Charles Rangel of New York, unless she negotiates a settlement.
The House ethics committee has not released the details on the formal charges against her.
Waters has been under investigation for possible conflict of interest involving her assistance to a bank that was seeking federal aid that her husband had connections to with their stock and board of directors.
