Hip Hop’s favorite foodie, 2 Chainz is entering the restaurant market. The rapper has revealed plans to open a new place, Escobar Lounge, for the upscale celebrity crowd to eat.

The Felt Like Cappin’ rapper broke the news on Instagram saying:

So I think it’s time i let y’all in on my newest venture as an entrepreneur this spot is called @escobarlounge my first club/lounge in the city of Atlanta off Peter St… #GodisGood…will be given opportunities and hiring reliable employees in the near future 1love 2Chainz

2 Chainz spokesperson Giselle Warren tells What Now Atlanta:

“We want [Escobar Lounge] to be one of the top spots for the upscale and celebrity crowd in the city. 2 Chainz has been looking to get into the restaurant industry for a while now, and this is an opportunity to do something unique.”

The restaurant will be a partnership between 2 Chainz and Mychel “Snoop” Dillard, owner of popular Atlanta hangout The Hookah Hideaway.

The building that the restaurant will be at rests walking distance from another property that 2 Chainz owns where he opened his Trapavelli pop-up shop last year.

According to The Bite Life, 2 Chainz has quite a challenge ahead of him as Atlanta rappers haven’t had the best of luck in opening restaurants.

Jermaine Dupri’s Cafe Dupri came to a screeching halt in 2008 after employees showed up for work one day only see the doors locked. Diddy closed his longstanding Justin’s restaurant location to focus on selling Ciroc and building Revolt. Most recently T.I. opened an upscale restaurant, Scales 529, but now his employees are suing him for back pay.
