You didn’t think Kevin Gates was going to let a police shooting happen in his city and not say something controversial about it did you?In a since deleted Instagram post, the Baton Rouge native offered his opinions on the recent Baton Rouge police shootings that came just over one week after the police killing of Alton Sterling.

In the post he says:

“I’m not against black people, I’m not against white people. I stand for what’s right. A bunch of n*ggas jumping around hooping and hollering ain’t right. But if we’re going to go to war, let’s go to war because I’m going to war for what’s right…I stand for what’s right. Us talking and all that, that ain’t right. But how they stood up in Baton Rouge, I can salute that.”

That’s a far cry from fellow what fellow Baton Rouge rapper Lil Boosie had to say as he indeed predicted a war if cops continued to get exonerated for killing people, but encouraged everybody to “calm down.”

Gates has never shied away from sharing his political or societal views. A video from an interview he did back in February has resurfaced where he pretty much denounced the Black Lives Matter movement.

Gates wasn’t finished though.
