Where were you when Bow Wow said he was hanging up the mic? Yesterday (Aug. 8), the former BET’s 106 & Park host, actor and occasional rapper said his next album would be his last—and Twitter reactions varied from Kanye shrugs to elite slander.

“Retirement only means that it is time for a new adventure” over 10 million sold. This the last one. THANK YOU,” is how Shad started a series of tweets. “I always said years ago i’d retire from music before 30. I just cant see myself at 30 years old rapping.”

He added, “Made over 20 million off rap. Why be greedy? Im good with everything i accomplished. I made it to the white house.”

While Bow Wow did get plenty of support (his new album is called NYLTH and is allegedly being executive produced by Snoop Dogg), it was drowned out by slander and jokes from the peanut gallery.

See for yourself below and on the flip. No word on whether or not Bow Wow’s mixed heritage was a factor in his decision. Sorry, too easy.
