Ice Cube doesn’t care that Jerry Heller is dead.
During an interview with Detroit’s Hot 107.9, Cube was asked about the death of former N.W.A manager Jerry Heller.
Heller, who died in a car accident after reportedly suffering a heart attack while driving, is credited as the man helped turn N.W.A into one of the most notorious rap groups of all time. But he’s also known as the man who broke the group up due to shady business practices.
Cube brought Heller’s behavior to light after he left N.W.A and dissed them and Heller on “No Vaseline.”
When asked how he felt about Heller’s passing, Cube, who was in town promoting a concert, didn’t really have much to say.
“I didn’t have no emotions. I’m glad I’m with DJ Yella, I’m glad I’m with MC Ren today, it’s only right. I ain’t gonna pop no champagne but I ain’t gonna shed no tears either. It is what it is… He’s outta here. I’m not losing no sleep over Heller.”
It’s hard to lose sleep over a man who allegedly stole from you and then even threatened to sue you for $110 million for his portrayal in the Straight Outta Compton movie that you produced.
