Nelly‘s recent tax troubles are no joke, but people are getting a good laugh out it. Stephen Colbert is the latest to join in on the fun with his “Hot In Herre” spoof, “Debt In Herre.”

In case you missed it, Nelly fans have created a #SaveNelly campaign where they are pledging to stream Nelly’s songs, specifically “Hot In Herre” millions and million of times on repeat to help him earn enough royalties to settle his massive $2.4 million lien.

Colbert one-upping those efforts by creating a song to not only inform Nelly on tax etiquette, but his fans as well.

Colbert isn’t alone with his mocking of Nelly’s tax troubles. Fellow CBS late night host James Corden has also joined the movement by installing a button on his dest that plays “Hot In Herre” every time he presses it. The song costs the show $6,000 every time, so a percentage, emphasis on “cent,” goes to Nelly when it’s played. Check that video out after the jump.
