That was (relatively) fast. After being named as the main suspect today (Sept. 19), alleged Manhattan bomber Ahmad Khan Rahami was apprehended after reportedly getting into a shootout with Linden, New Jersey cops.
Reportedly a pair of officers were wounded in an exchange of gunfire while Rahami suffered a gunshot wound to his leg. Per CNN, one officer was hit in the chest, but was wearing a bulletproof vest, while another was hit in the hand.
The Afghanistan-born Rahami is suspected of setting off a bomb in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood on Saturday night (Sept. 17). Twenty-nine people were injured as a result of the explosion while another potential IED, a pressure cooker, was found nearby shortly thereafter.
