Chris Bosh‘s attempt to get back on the NBA hardwood just hit a major stumbling block. The two-time NBA champion failed has reportedly failed a physical examination after doctor’s found blood clots in his lungs.

Bosh‘s health and career have been in jeopardy since February 2015 when he was admitted to the hospital after playing in the All-Star Game. Doctors found blood clots on one of his lungs and he was ruled ineligible to play for the rest of the season. Bosh would return the following season and return back to his form, but a blood clot was found in his leg after the 2016 All-Star. From there the Miami Heat essentially forced him to sit out the rest of the season while he insisted that he was alright.

Fast forward to now, Bosh failed a team physical and the Heat are not allowing him to join their training camp.

Per statement released by the Heat:

The Miami HEAT and Chris Bosh, in consultation with team doctors and other physicians, have been working together for many months with the mutual goal of having Chris return to the court as soon as possible. Chris has now taken his pre-season physical. The Miami HEAT regret that it remains unable to clear Chris to return to basketball activities, and there is no timetable for his return.

We are not able to comment further in light of Article XXII, Section 3(e) of the NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement, which precludes a team from releasing certain medical information without a player’s consent.

Bosh filmed a documentary about his health complications and desire to get back into the NBA. In it talks about the first time he was diagnosed with the clots and how the Heat told him his career was over with.

“Seeing the team doctors, they told me that my season is over, my career is probably over and this just happens, this is just how it is. I felt right away that I was written off. It was [claps his hands together] put it to the side matter-of-factly. If a doctor tells me, ‘Hey that’s it and this is how that is,’ and I don’t buy that. I have the right to disagree with you. I know inside me I have a lot of talent and a lot of ability. I have it. I know I have it. It wasn’t a matter of if I play again; it was when. So we took the bull by the horns.”
