Solange is sitting at the head of the table this week. Her new album A Seat At The Table has debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart.

Solange‘s new album has been the soundtrack in Black households for the last week and this news is proof. The project moved 72,000 equivalent album units [46,000 traditional album sales] in its opening week. It also earned 35.7 million streams, the best opening week showing this year since Drake‘s VIEWS.

A Seat At The Table also made history by putting Solange is some unique company. Together, she and Beyoncè become just the third pair of siblings to have No. 1 Billboard albums.

Before them, Michael and Janet Jackson accomplished the feat as well as Master P and Silkk The Shocker.

A Seat At The Table seemingly came out of nowhere, but the project has been in the works since 2013. Solange let us all into the creative process of the album with a new mini-documentary, check it out below.
