So, that time when Mary decided to break out into song while sitting with the Democratic nominee for President was a not a freestyle, it was an actual song that was about to be put out.
“American Skin” is a cover of Bruce Springsteen song by the same name. Her version is dedicated to Amadou Diallo, the unarmed Bronx man who was killed by NYPD officers in 1999 after they shot him 41 times, for reaching for his wallet.
The track also has Kendrick Lamar on it, who is raking up a lot of features this year.
