Donald Trump doesn’t even know when Black people are actually on his side. During a rally in North Carolina, Cheeto Jesus cult members mistook a Black man, who is actually an adamant Trump supporter, for a protester.

Trump compounded his struggle referring to his advocate as a “thug.” For those that don’t know, that’s a synonym for the N-word amongst Trump fans.

Reports TheGrio.com:

During a rally in Kinston, North Carolina, a crowd of Donald Trump supporters became restless as they tried to point out a black man to the Republican nominee.

At first, Trump saw the black man in a suit and sunglasses and waved it off, saying, “That’s all right, leave him alone,” but not long after that, he changed his tune, calling the man a “protester.”

“By the way, were you paid $1,500 to be a thug?” he said. “Where’s the protester? Where is he? Was he paid?”

The man in question was C.J. Cary, and he is actually a huge supporter of Trump’s.

Trump doesn’t need to worry, though. Cary is still very much Team Trump and blamed the misunderstanding on everything but the obvious.

According to Cary, he was standing about 20 to 30 feet from the stage and trying to get Trump’s attention by shouting his name and waving a letter that he wanted to give to Trump. “Everyone else is waving Trump signs and I’m waving this white letter,” he explained, noting that the fact that he was wearing sunglasses in the evening probably set off the crowd as well, but he has a sensitivity to light.

Peep the struggle below.
