Dave Chappelle’s turn as the host of Saturday Night Live worked out masterfully. The comedian addressed the nation’s state of affairs (read: Donald Trump) in a hilarious opening monologue and he appeared in some hilarious sketches, including one where he assembled his Chappelle’s Show characters so one could catch a baseball bat to the dome.

Chappelle’s opening monologue was potent as he called Trump an “internet troll” and riffed on Harambee getting shot, shouted out the Wu-Tang and Black Lives Matter.  He also said he would give Cheeto Jesus a chance.

Chappelle described a White House party he attended that was full of Black people, and Bradley Cooper, to describe how proud he was of our Black President and to see such progress. Flipping back to Trump, he sought mutual respect. “I’m wishing Donald Trump luck,” said Chappelle. “And I’m going to give him a chance. And we, the historically disenfranchised, demand that he give us one too.”

As for the sketches, a pair of the best were an Election Night viewing party where Chappelle, and Chris Rock, were laughing at white people realizing the US is still full of racists and a The Walking Dead spoof where Chappelle Negan offered the fade to a gang of his old characters.

Watch below and on the flip.
