Reps for jazz singer and actress Abbey Lincoln have confirmed that she died Saturday morning in her Manhattan home.

Lincoln, 80, recorded over 20 albums and was known for various television and film roles.

Additionally, Lincoln was noted for her commitment to helping the civil rights movement and earned a Golden Globe nomination for her role alongside Sidney Poitier in the film “For The Love Of Ivy.”

She is survived by her two brothers and a sister.
