After much teasing, 2 Chainz as revealed the release date for his new album.

Friday, April 7 is when 2 Chainz will drop his first solo album in four years. He made the announcement via Instagram.

Of course, it doesn’t seem like it has been that long since he’s delivered multiple mixtapes within that timeframe. But none of those mixtapes were teased with high-profile, big-budget cameos from Drake and Justin Bieber.

Pretty Girls Like Trap Music caps off what has been a great bounce back since 2013’s B.O.AT.S. II: Me Time. While the album did receive favorable reviews, it failed to match the success of its 2012 predecessor Based On A Tru Story. After that, Chainz got back to his trap roots dropping six mixtapes between 2014 and 2016. He also collaborated with Lil Wayne for the Collegrove album.

We’ve yet to hear any music from the new project but that should be changing soon. Pretty Girls should be one of 2 Chainz most balanced projects as he’s shown that he can rap in many lanes over the past year two, hopping on tracks with everybody from Young Dolph to De La Soul. Even with two pop stars rumored to be on the album, it looks like 2 Chainz will be sticking to his “trap raps.”
