Troy Ave makes awful decisions. The Brooklyn rapper was in court today rocking a bulletproof vest as well as a hat that boasted how to make crack cocaine.

We didn’t even mention the fur coat.

Reports the New York Daily News:

Rapper Troy Ave made quite the court appearance Friday — dressed in a floor length fur coat and wearing a bulletproof vest — as prosecutors agreed to allow him to perform again.

Topping his ensemble was a “distressed” blazing red baseball cap with python skin on the bill that bizarrely read “Bake Water Whip Weight Again.”

The hat is listed on his website as for sale for $200.

The slogan is a reference to the process of making crack cocaine.

Well, guess the outfit worked, because the judge granted Troy the right to perform in NYC again. He is currently out on $500,000 bond while he battles attempted murder charges stemming from his involvement in the infamous Irving Plaza shooting.

Another man allegedly involved, podcaster Taxstone, is being held without bond, with prosecutors claiming they found his DNA on the weapon used in the shooting.

Per DNA Info New York:

Investigators arrested Taxstone in January on charges that he smuggled the murder weapon into Irving Plaza that night and fired the first shots after a confrontation with Troy Ave in a second-floor VIP room.

Investigators linked Taxstone’s DNA to the gun, and tracked down a straw purchaser in Florida who told authorities he sold the gun to an associate of Taxstone who in turn passed it along to him, according to court documents.

Another break that Troy caught today is prosecutors agreeing he didn’t bring the gun into Irving Plaza.

However, that “does not alleviate criminal responsibility for his actions,” said Assistant DA Christine Keenan per the NYDN.

Troy Ave plans to go on tour and release new music. He still has to rock an ankle monitor, though.
