The NYPD have a reputation of using excessive force even when it’s not necessary and their latest violation is a clear sign that they aren’t switching up their ways and actions anytime soon.

As reported by Gothamist, the NYPD are now investigating a video of a pregnant, 17-year-old Dailene Rosario getting tasered by a New York City police sergeant in the Bronx.

The cellphone video was uploaded to YouTube yesterday (Feb. 14) and showed a confrontation taking place in a hallway between building tenants and a team of police officers.

In the video, the teen can be heard screaming “I’m pregnant! He’s going to break my f*ckin’ arm!” while officers were trying to put the cuffs on her. A few seconds later Rosario was shot with the taser and went to the floor screaming in agony.

Police were responding to a claim that Rosario and her sister were involved in some fisticuffs with each other before the incident occurred.

The NYPD Patrol Guide advises police officers not to use stun guns on children, the elderly and pregnant women. Obviously, somebody either didn’t get the memo or simply didn’t care.

Luckily for Rosario a doctor assured her that her unborn child wasn’t hurt by the Taser shot she suffered.

Even though she was the victim in all of this Rosario was still detained by police and charged with resisting arrest, second degree harassment, and disorderly conduct before being released.
