Republican Senator Marco Rubio is concerned about the ideas that Snoop Dogg’s “Lavender” video may give people.

Snoop Dogg‘s video for “Lavender” have people looking at him the way they did back 1993, with a little bit of fear. Ever since he became a beloved weed-smoker, sports enthusiast, reality show star and DJ, Snoop hasn’t made headlines for many of his actions or statements. But that seems to be changing now that he’s depicted himself putting a gun to Donald Trump’s head in his latest video.

Among his critics are Senator and former Presidential hopeful Marco Rubio. In a brief interview with TMZ, Rubio expressed concern with the imagery.  shouldn’t have done that. We’ve had Presidents assassinated before in this country, so anything like that is something you should really be careful about. People can disagree on policy, but we have to be really careful about that kind of thing. Because the wrong person sees that and gets the wrong idea and you could have a real problem. I’m not sure what Snoop is thinking but he should think about that.

“Snoop shouldn’t have done that,” he says about the climatic scene. “We’ve had Presidents assassinated before in this country, so anything like that is something you should really be careful about. People can disagree on policy, but we have to be really careful about that kind of thing. Because the wrong person sees that and gets the wrong idea and you could have a real problem. I’m not sure what Snoop is thinking but he should think about that.”

Rubio isn’t what we would consider “for the culture” but he does appear to at least be aware of the influence that Hip-Hop music can have, good and bad. He’s proclaimed his fandom of Tupac and NWA in the past and says he prefers “West Coast” music over any other kind.

Where do you stand on Snoop’s video? The controversy over the video has led to it being viewed more than one million times in just two days.
