When someone tells you “no good deed goes unpunished” believe them. A 37-year-old man found himself getting pummeled to the ground after offering to pay for his assailats meal at a Texas Chicken and Burger in Brooklyn on March 1.

According to the New York Daily News, the victim was sitting in a booth when two men came in with one loudly stated that no one would give him a dollar.

The victim offered to help the man out but instead of receiving some gratitude he caught some attitude from the man when he was told “I’ve got money, I’ve got money. Mind your f*ckin’ business!”

After exchanging some words the two men began wailing on him.

The victim tried to fight back only to find out that the men weren’t alone and two more attackers joined the ruckus and beat the man with fists, kicks, and even his own cane.

According to police, the group dragged the victim toward the front door before leaving.

Before police arrived customers continued to walk right in and over the beaten and bloody man with one even taking the time to go through his pockets. Gentrified or not, Brooklyn is still Brooklyn.

The man was taken to an area hospital where he was treated for broken bones, including a broken nose, cuts, and bruises. He is currently in stable condition.
