Rapper/philanthropist/activist Chance The Rapper has been named among Fortune magazine’s World’s Greatest Leaders.

Thanks to being a trailblazer for independent Hip-Hop artists as well as an activist and advocate for Chicago youth, Chance The Rapper is being recognized as a world leader.

Fortune magazine calls Chance “a political force as an anti-violence campaigner in his hometown of Chicago.” Among the many efforts Chance has made to improve the lives of others in his hometown is the time he lead thousands of people to voting booths during election season, his occasional Open Mike event for aspiring stage performers and the time he donated $1 million dollars to the Chicago Public School system.

Aside from his community improvement efforts Chance is still getting props for being one of most innovative independent artists in Hip-Hop by fighting for free streaming music to be recognized by the Grammys.

Chance was ranked $48 on the list ahead of two CEOs and the Mayor of London. Ava DuVernay, LeBron James also appear on the list.
