Outspoken basketball dad LaVar Ball caught the sound and fury of Twitter last night after his son Lonzo Ball and the UCLA Bruins were ousted from the NCAA tournament.
Going into the tournament, UCLA wasn’t really favored to win it all. But, Ball insisted and predicted that his son was going to lead the team to the championship. Keep in mind, this is also the same man who said he could beat Michael Jordan in a game of one-on-one. He is also the same man who that his sons were going to better than LeBron James’ sons in the future. Ball also said that his son is already better than the reigning two-time NBA MVP Steph Curry. Trumping all of that, Ball has also put it out there that he wants a billion-dollar sneaker deal for his three sons once all of them are eligible to start cashing in as professionals.
Needless to say, Twitter enjoyed going in on him after his UCLA prediction did not come true. Sure, some were sad that Lonzo, who is actually playing, lost. But people had a better time poking at LaVar than he.
While the world did have fun at LaVar’s expense, best believe that the Ball’s will be wiping away those Jordan face tears with dollar bills very soon. Because as expected, Lonzo immediately declared himself eligible for the NBA draft. He is expected to be a top 3 lottery pick.
