Comedian Michael Che still thinks Boston is the most racist city he’s ever been to. Don’t hold your breath for an apology.

Michael Che has made plenty of good jokes and bold statements during his time on Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update. But it’s starting to look like one quip in particular is beginning to haunt him. Earlier this year, the night before the Super Bowl game between the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots, Che joked, “I just want to relax, turn my brain off, and watch the blackest city in America beat the most racist city I’ve ever been to.”

Naturally, Bostonites [and racists], didn’t take too kindly to the joke. Che, who stands by his words, reiterated his stance during a stand-up performance at Boston University. Che says that he received more backlash over the statement after the show.

The Boston Globe reports that one woman confronted Che on social media. To that, Che responded in a way that proved why he is one of the better comedians out there.

He said: “Talk to your closest black friend and ask them to explain it to you.” To that, the woman could only say, “Touche.”
