Mike Will Made It is linking up with ESPN for new concert concept.

Per release:

ESPN will be collaborating with popular hip-hop producer Mike WiLL Made-It for the first ever “NBA on ESPN Remix,” an event featuring a live viewing party and unique second screen experience for NBA fans. The concert will run concurrently with the ESPN telecast of the Houston Rockets vs. Golden State Warriors matchup on Friday, March 31, at 7:30 p.m. PT/10:30 p.m. ET. The game and the concert will be presented in a two-box screen experience on WatchESPN and the ESPN App, so fans can simultaneously view the live stream and listen to Mike WiLL Made-It’s performance that will be coordinated to the game action. The NBA game and concert collaboration is the first of its kind for ESPN.

On site at The Mezzanine in San Francisco, fans will be able to watch the game projected behind the DJ booth and walls, while enjoying the live show by Mike WiLL Made-It. For viewers watching on the linear telecast, it will feature live “look-ins” of the venue throughout the game.

“Innovation is a hallmark of ESPN, and this is a great way to connect music to the game action and create a unique experience for our fans,” said Sean Hanrahan, senior vice president of brand and marketing solutions.

So basically, it sounds like the app will allow you watch the game and listen to music at the same time. We’re sure people do this at home all of the time, but at least here you won’t have to run two different appliances at once, everything is in your phone.
