LaVar Ball is still in the news for all the wrong reasons. This time, the annoying daddy of Lonzo Ball said his son’s UCLA squad didn’t couldn’t have won the NCAA tournament because the squad had a bunch of slow white guys.
Yes, this really happened.
Ball told the Orange County Register:
“Realistically you can’t win no championship with three white guys because the foot speed is too slow. I told Lonzo – ‘One of these games you might need to go for 30 or 40 points.’ It turned out that was the one game. Then once they get to the Elite 8, they’re right there.”
The slow afoot white guys in question were TJ Leaf, Bryce Alford and Thomas Welsh, who combined for 39 points when UCLA took their L in the tournament to Kentucky. The high flying and fleet of foot Lonzo Ball had a grand total of 10 points.
This is where we mention that LaVar’s wife and the mother of his three sons is white.
