Well Deadpool fans, it’s official, Thanos will play Cable in Deadpool 2. After months of speculation as to who would be filling the shoes of the fan favorite mutant from the future in the highly-anticipated sequel to Deadpool, Josh Brolin (Thanos in The Avengers) has been tapped to portray the telepathic superhero.
For months names like Michael Shannon, Pierce Brosnan, and even Keira Knightly were rumored to have been in the running for the coveted role, but right out of left field The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Brolin had been chosen.
Like some fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ryan Renolds took to Twitter to voice his “displeasure” with the casting choice.
The fuck, Fox! You can't play 2 characters in the same universe!! Josh Brolin was in Sicario and I was in Sabrina The Teenage Witch. pic.twitter.com/AQCRp1aWKg

Has everyone already forgotten that The Human Torch is currently Captain America?
Reynolds is obviously happy with the casting choice but now we have to wonder if Brolin is going to get buff for the role or is he going to be rockin’ CGI muscles? Guess we’ll find out.
Deadpool 2 will begin shooting in Vancouver this summer and release sometime next year.
