Yesterday (April 19) the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots made the customary Super Bowl winners trip to The White House. However, as many people already knew, a sizable chunk of the team opted not to participate in the tradition.

In a recently released video by Patriots Devin McCourty and Chris Long, the players and lifelong Patriots fans explain the pride that they carry with the team and why they don’t support President Trump and his administration. Hence, why they and other team players didn’t attend yesterday’s gathering at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave in Washington, DC.

Aside from coach Bill Belichick and star tight end, Rob Gronkowski – who didn’t even play in the big game due to injury – players who attended the ceremony were mostly unrecognizable and unknown by most NFL fans.

While stars like running back LeGarrette Blount and tight end Martellus Bennett made their voices clear that they wouldn’t attend because of Trump’s racist and misogynist rhetoric and actions, the teams Hall of Fame lock of a QB and Trump sympathizer, Tom Brady announced his absence was due to “family reasons.” Tom must’ve known that skipping a White House appearance when Obama was in office but going to one with Trump at the helm would’ve been a horrible look for him.

We must say we’re surprised at the amount of guys who did show up for the photo-op, but then again, Trump loving Bill Belichick is capable of cutting anyone not named Tom Brady from the team so it is what it is.
