Chance The Rapper isn’t tolerating anyone taking food out of his baby’s mouth.

Complex reports:

The rapper and his touring company, CTR Touring Inc., filed a lawsuit in an Illinois district court on Wednesday for “injunctive and monetary relief” as a precautionary effort against anyone who tries to hawking unauthorized merch at any of his shows.

While the suit doesn’t have a single name attached to it, Chance and his team are utilizing this approach to discourage people from even trying to inappropriately use the rapper’s name to make a quick couple of dollars.

As an independent artist who gives his music away for free, Chance depends on every dollar he generates from his touring and merchandise. With his name rising in popularity and his “3” design becoming one of the most recognized brands in Hip-Hop, it’s only right that Team Chance take the appropriate measures to protect themselves.

Many have assumed that Chance is rolling in the dough and even suspected that he was “signed” to Apple Music. In March, he opened up about how real the independent grind is. He said that he signed an exclusivity deal with Apple Music for his Coloring Book album.

On top of that, anyone bootlegging Chance’s merch is also affecting how he helps kids in the Chicago Public School system. Do you really want to hurt them?
