Following in the footsteps of Tupac Shakur before him, T.I. has taken to politics after seeing the effect it has on the community and is using his rap star status to bring social consciousness to his fans and the Hip-Hop culture. And with the way things are unfolding under the current Trump administration, it’s just what the game needs.
Just last week BET premiered T.I.’s politically charged short-film, Us or Else: Letter To The System. The short special was basically the visual manifestation of his social-political themed EP of the same title that dropped late last year.
Taking on a few roles in the short, T.I. paints a picture that details just how police brutality touches different sectors of the community before ultimately leading to a Black Lives Matter protest. And no, a can of Pepsi was nowhere to be found.
