Betsy DeVos Gets Booed During Commencement Speech At Bethune-Cookman [VIDEO]
U.S. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos being invited to speak at an HBCU sounded like a bad idea. Here’s proof that it was.
DeVos got the greeting that we all expected when she began talking at Bethune-Cookman Universities graduation ceremony. The woman who once called the creators of Historically Black Colleges And Universities the “pioneers of school choice” was met with loud boos. At one point, many of the graduates protested her presence by standing up and turning their backs.
After a while, the boos got so loud that the school president threatened to mail their degrees to them and cancel the ceremony. Here’s how that went.
So far, the student’s actions are being met with grand approval.
Today's real MVPs are the students of the 2017 graduating class of Bethune-Cookman. For telling Betsy DeVos "Nah."

Betsy Devos is the living embodiment of the obstacles those kids at an HBCU had to overcome to receive their degree.

We need to put partisanship aside and be honest about Betsy Devos getting booed at a public event today.
It's very, very good.
