Snoop Dogg and Nicki Minaj, two of the biggest names in popular music, are going to try on some church robes in the future.

In separate instances, both rappers have recently expressed a desire to break into Gospel music.

Minaj let her intentions be known on Instagram when she shouted out Grammy Award-winning singer Tasha Cobbs. Nicki reposted a video of Cobbs laying down a track and said, “When you finish recording the album, come to my studio so I can put a 16 on one of these songs miss thang! Can’t wait for this to drop.”

Cobbs responded, seeming to agree.

Snoop Dogg spoke on his Gospel desires in an interview with Beats 1. Fresh off releasing his new album Neva Left, “Tha Doggfather” said that he has already started working Gospel project.

“I’m working on a gospel album,” he said. “It’s always been on my heart. I just never got around to it because I always be doing gangsta business or doing this or doing that. I just felt like it’s been on my heart too long. I need to do it now.”

Snoop added that he is confident that he can get some of his friends like Faith Evans, Charlie Wilson and Jeffery Osborne to hop on the project with him. Watch his interview below.

Nicki has done pop and Snoop has experimented with Reggae, so both have proven they can switch lanes. How do you these songs will sound though?
