A Tribe Called Quest‘s reunion album, We Got It From Here…Thank U For Your Service has gone gold.
The Boombox reports that the album sold the equivalent of 500,000 copies, giving ATCQ their first RIAA certification since 1998’s The Love Movement went gold that November.
The album was released to much fanfare last November, eight months after original member Phife Dawg passed away due to complications from diabetes. The album was supported by the single “We The People” and had guest appearances from Andre 3000, Anderson .Paak and Busta Rhymes. It also debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Tribe backed the album up with appearances on Saturday Night Live and tour dates. In the aftermath, a street was also named after Phife Dawg in Queens. Click here to see when ATCQ is coming to a city near you.
