Long Beach, California’s Vince Staples new album Big Fish Theory has arrived.
Right when Vince Staples was entering Jay Electronica territory as in being known more for interviews than albums, he drops his sophomore effort.
In previous interviews Staples said that the album would be “Afrofuturism” but then later joked that he was just saying that word to hear himself say it. However, after one listen we find out that he actually wasn’t joking. Overall, the sound of the album is a very synth-heavy affair with the mood swaying between Soulection and club EDM vibes. While every song may not become your favorite song, Staples makes a strong case for being one of today’s most versatile rap artists.
