Jay-Z definitely floated Kanye West $20M. However, the funds were an advance for the Saint Pablo Tour rather than some sort of bail out.
Hova made the reveal on “Kill Jay Z” off his new 4:44 album.
“You gave him 20 million without blinking/He gave you 20 minutes on stage, f*ck was he thinking,” spits Jay-Z on the track.
Ever since, the speculation on the Internets was that Jigga put Yeezy on blast for coming for him and his wife on stage, despite offering his lil homie a monetary lifeline.
That probably still stands, but TMZ reports the $20M was a standard advance for Yeezy’s tour.
Worth noting, since Yeezy bailed on the tour due to his mental break, he might not have made the money back (unlikely, but still). There was talk that insurance would cover any losses, though.
Whatever the circumstance, West has reportedly threatened to leave Tidal, allegedly saying he is owed $3M.
